Let it Go

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.-Proverbs 29:25

So many times im left with this feeling of emptiness, loneliness. You put a person whom you love before everything, even yourself. When it comes to making plans, you see what they want to do. If you have free time you try to spend it with them. Your thoughts go to that person, thinking of things for the future that can be done together. You prayers are for that person. You love this person the way you should, the way you said you would. But this person is preoccupied. Has different things going on at all times, is to busy to think about you. Or atleast thats how it seems. And its understandable i guess. Thats life, and everyone has different things on their plates. But what happens when you’re that person, when you’re me? When you promised to love someone and be by there side till death do you part, but it seems like everything and anything else is doing you part?

Well the only advice i can think of, the best advice i can give myself, is the only person that should be a priority in our lives is God. Everything else will prove to be a snare. Man, when we focus on God, everything else that seems to be wrong just doesn’t seem that important anyway.

This is the life we’ve been blessed with, and nobody else can live it for us, only ourselves. We need to stop putting our happiness in the hands of others, when the only hands it is safe in are Gods hands.

And i myself am not perfect. Im sure others have put they’re happiness in my hands at one point and it came back empty. And not that i intentionally wanted to return it empty. But i was preoccupied, had other things on my mind. We are all flawed, none of us perfect and thats why we must have compassion with one another.

But realize God intended us to live full, happy and complete lives. He is the only component to that solution. When we focus on Him, everything else falls into its place.

Reminds me of a hymn that i love because of its truth.

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His glorious face, and the things of Earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

Lets not be so hard on each other. None of us are perfect. But dont underestimate your value and your worth. Give it God, he will guard your heart and direct your steps. Keep your eyes on him and let it go.
